Architeuthis, as the name indicates, represents the successful cloning of a giant squid and certain free floating parts of the genus ‘1932 Ford Truck.’ It now appears that eukaryotic genomic DNA from a squid was injected into host prokaryotes, with further modification by removal of introns and ligating prokaryotic promoters, before the vector transformed the target material to create a free floating biomorphic machine. Sitings off the Costa Brava suggest the form has already replicated.
